It seems to be last season all over again in the Bundesliga. After a slow start, Bayern Munich are top of the table, a point clear of their opponents this weekend, second placed RB Leipzig. Munich weren't even in the Champions League places a few months ago but since replacing their manager, they have shown great improvement. They have won six league games in a row and scored 23 goals in doing so. They now top the table and look to make it six home league wins out of seven with a victory over RB Leipzig. Bayern have already won seven home league games this season with only Borussia Dortmund scoring more than them, some more goals look likely this wekend.
Their opponents had a four point lead at the top of the table when the winter break came along. Since the season resumed, they haven't been reproducing their early season form and that lead has disappeared. They come into this game having earned one point from their last two league games and in midweek lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Cup. Last weekend saw them have to come from 2-0 down at home to Borussia Monchengladbach to earn a point. They have conceded seven goals in their last three league and cup matches with only one clean sheet in their last ten league games. Away form has produced six away league wins but the last three have all come against sides in the bottom half of the table. A home win for Bayern with over 1.5 goals in the game is the prediction for this match.
