Thursday’s early kickoff in the Europa Conference League Playoff second leg will see Astana taking on Brann at Ortalyq Stadion. The winner of this tie between the Blue and Yellows and the Pride of Bergen will earn a spot in this year’s main draw, while the loser will not feature in European competition this season. Astana have it all to do heading into this match after they were beaten 2-0 in Norway last week. It was the first time the side failed to score a goal in a competitive match since they lost 1-0 to Ordabasy in mid-June. 

However, it was a match that the Blue and Yellows never looked likely to win as they were outplayed in almost every area of the pitch, managing a mere 21% possession and only six attempts on goal.

Astana will need a massive improvement on that performance here at home, where they have won their two previous Conference League matches, though those were against significantly easier opponents in Milsami and Corvinul Hunedoara.

Meanwhile, Brann will be feeling very good about themselves after their first leg performance, and hold a two goal advantage here thanks to goals by Felix Myhre and Bard Finne in each half.

That result took the Pride of Bergen to a third consecutive victory in all competitions and their ninth consecutive match without defeat dating back to the start of July.
