Farense vs Maritimo Prediction & Betting Tips - Liga Portugal

The bottom two sides in the Primeira League face off on Monday. Farense prop up the table and are two points behind their opponents Maritimo. The home side won promotion to the top flight last season making their return to the Primeira League after 18 years. However, they struggled on their return losing four of their first five fixtures, the other being a 3-3 home draw with Famalaico. Farense led that game 2-0 but needed a 90th minute equalizer to get their first league point of the season. After another league loss, it looked as if that elusive first win might come at Belenenses, but a last minute equalizer saw them go home with just a point. That first win finally arrived when they beat Boavista (currently two from bottom in the table) 3-1 at home. They then traveled to third placed Braga and only a goal three minutes from time saw them lose 1-0. With an away game at league leaders Sporting Lisbon next, a good result against Maritimo is a must. With four points from their last three home fixtures, that is a possibility.

Maritimo are 16th and on seven points after eight league games. It's a tight league though with seventh placed Nacional only being three points above them. Maritimo lost their opening league game but then had wins against Tondela and a shock victory at defending champions Porto. They have been unable to build on that win though and come into this game having earned just one point from their next five league fixtures. All four of those defeats were by a 2-1 scoreline. The most recent loss was a home defeat by Benfica, after taking an early lead. Away form has seen Maritimo lose three out of four in the Primeira League. Nine away league fixtures have been lost in 2020. A bet on Farense to win is the one to go for. Placing a side bet on both teams scoring also looks profitable.
