Exeter City vs Middlesbrough Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup
by Kennedy Kechula | in Carabao Cup Predictions
Exeter City will be at home on Tuesday to welcome Middlesbrough for their next EFL Cup assignment. This fourth-round tie will be the first meeting between the two teams. Exeter City are in atrocious form at the moment and haven't won any of their last seven games. Gary Caldwell's men have lost six times in this run. Five of those defeats have come in the league where they sit just three points above the drop zone. The Grecians drew 1-1 with Lincoln City last time out to briefly stop the hemorrhaging. Exeter are in the fourth round of the League Cup for only the second time in their history. The last time they had advanced this far was 34 years ago.
Middlesbrough are coming off a 2-0 defeat at home to Stoke City that ended an eight-match unbeaten run. Michael Carrick's men had won seven successive matches before the game against Stoke. Six of those victories had come in the league where they are again in the reckoning for a top-six finish. Boro are among the last 16 in the League Cup for the first time since the 2018/19 season. They defeated Bradford City 2-0 away from home in the last round. Tuesday's visitors have seen all their four matches in this season's competition played away from home.
