Everton are 12th in the Premier League after their first three games of the season. They have four points from their first three games but that's only a single point behind fifth. Their season began with a goalless draw at Crystal Palace but they followed that up with their first league win of the new campaign with a home victory over bottom-of-the-table Watford. Everton's unbeaten league run ended when going down 2-0 at Aston Villa last weekend. Midweek saw them have to come from behind to get a 4-2 win at Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup. That was an important game for them as the chance was taken to give more time on the pitch to some of their recent signings. Now they take on Wolves looking to continue their strong home league form. Everton are unbeaten in their last six league games played at Goodison Park. The last five have all been won and not one goal has been conceded in those six matches.

Wolves are down in 15th place in the table having drawn each of their first three league games. Goals have been a bit scarce in their league matches this season with only four scored in three games. They have so far drawn 0-0 at Leicester City and two home draws with Manchester United and Burnley. Europa League games have been more successful though and going into their second leg against Torino (being played after this preview has been written), Wolves are unbeaten in eight competitive games played this season.
