Everton have had a flying start to the season and they will be looking to sustain it when they host West ham United in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. The home side saw off Fleetwood Town to reach this stage as West Ham beat Hull City to set up this all Premier League teams clash. Defensively, they have conceded in three of their matches so far, and that is one area they will want to check ahead of the Everton game. Their defending will not be the only concern though; West Ham have managed just four wins in their last 20 away matches, and have kept only five clean sheets in the run. The last time they faced a Premier League team in the Carabao Cup, they fell 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur; that was in 2018. The Hammers have played four matches after that defeat, all against sides in lower leagues and they have lost once while winning three.
