Everton vs Tottenham Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Everton will be back at home to host Tottenham Hotspur as the two out-of-form sides seek the crucial points to aid in their push for Champions League football next season. Everton are currently placed eighth with 48 points and Tottenham seventh with 49 points. Once regarded a genuine top four contender, Everton’s decline has been dramatic, and they go to this game winless in five matches, having conceded seven goals and scored just two. With each game, their Champions League dream keeps fading. Ahead of this game, it would make more sense to challenge for Europa League, being seven points below fifth. They are coming from a 0-0 draw with Brighton, a game they missed nine members of the first team, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucure, Allan and Andre Gomes. With a depleted squad, the Toffees couldn’t fill the nine allocated slots for subs but Calvert-Lewin is expected to return for this game. They’ve failed to score in three of the last five matches and have just one win in eight league matches at home, losing five and keeping just one clean sheet – in the win over Southampton. Injuries to key players and poor form have combined to see the team fail to score more than a goal in the last eight home league matches. This will be the third meeting between the teams this season, and Everton will be seeking a third straight win.
Tottenham are also struggling, with one win in the last five matches. They are coming from a 3-1 loss to Manchester United, their third defeat in five matches and just like Everton, a top four finish seems to be slipping away. The North Londoners have lost their defensive solidity, conceding two or more goals in four of the last five matches. In the last two league matches, they’ve conceded five goals, but in attack they remain potent, having failed to score in just one of their last five matches. Jose Mourinho’s team has also found it hard holding onto leads lately; in the last five matches, they’ve led in four but dropped points in three. They’ve lost once in the last four away league matches and won two, while scoring in each of their last five away league matches.

Our Everton vs Tottenham Prediction
While both these teams have been on a slump, Tottenham have shown a bit more fight, and they also don’t have as many injuries as Everton. It has generally been a poor season for Everton at home, while Spurs have had better form in away matches and they’ll be slightly stronger. A win for Spurs looks good here.
