Everton host Tottenham two days before Christmas and will be hoping for an improvement in their form. They had climbed up the table after a run of 13 points from five games but since then have gone four without a win. It all started go wrong with that last minute loss to Liverpool at Anfield. They had to come from behind to rescue points against both Watford and Newcastle in home games and then lost 3-1 at Manchester City last weekend. That took them down to eighth in the table. A big problem Everton has is their inability to beat the top teams. Already this season they have played four of the top five in the current table and managed to earn just one point, now they take on the only top five side they haven't played.

Tottenham are in top form at present reaching the last sixteen of the Champions League with a draw at Barcelona and beating Arsenal away to get into the Carabao Cup semi-finals. 10 of their last 12 league and cup gmes have been won with the only defeat being an away league game at Arsenal. It's seven wins out of the last eight in the Premier League and six out of seven on their travels. They have no major injury worries and can get an away win at inconsistent Everton.
