Everton haven't been firing on all cylinders since the players returned from the international break. The sad news of the death of former player and manager Howard Kendall overshadowed their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United. Then they lost 2-1 at Arsenal which is no disgrace before beating Norwich on penalties in the Capital One Cup. It takes a really good team to win at Goodison Park and Everton's two defeats have been against Manchester United and Manchester City, Sunderland definitely aren't in that category. Everton may have only won one of their five home league games but that was against Chelsea and they've also had the Liverpool derby to contend with. Sunderland finally won their first Premier League game of the season last week but they always seem to beat Newcastle these days. New boss Sam Allardyce hasn't quite worked his magic yet because his first game in charge saw them lose 1-0 at West Brom. Away form is a big worry for Sunderland with just one point from five games. They won't find it easy at Goodison Park and another away defeat looks to be on the cards here.
