Everton missed a good chance to keep their hopes for European football up in their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa. They have a chance to atone for the two dropped points when they welcome relegated Sheffield United in their next game. Everton have 56 points going to the game and their recent result sees them drop to eighth while Sheffield United remain bottom with 17 points. Everton’s main handicap going to this game is the fact that they’ve struggled at home but done well away from the Merseyside. In 17 home league matches, they’ve won just five.
