Everton are down to 12th in the Premier League and seven points off sixth place. A potential route to the Europa League was lost when they failed to get past Manchester City in the Capital One Cup semi-final despite leading 3-1 in the tie at one stage. They are in the Fifth round of the FA Cup but their fans want to see some improved league performances, especially at Goodison Park. Everton have only won six league games so far but drawn 11. They've failed to win any of their last five league games and the last home league victory was in late November when they beat Aston Villa.  If the bad run continues they could possibly get dragged into a relegation fight and that's the last thing they need. Newcastle fans are pretty used to that kind of battle sadly. Most of last year was a nightmare and it's the same this season with them currently two points from safety. They keep looking as if improvement is coming and they've definitely had a good transfer window. The signings of Shelvey and Townsend could definitely spark some hope for Newcastle. A difficult game to predict but I think both teams will score.
