Everton vs Manchester United Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Steve Ashfield | in Premier League Predictions
Everton lost 2-1 at Bournemouth on Saturday, their first defeat since Sam Allardyce became their new manager. That ended a run of nine league and cup games without defeat that has taken them out of the bottom three and into mid-table. That loss saw them stay in ninth place in the table, a year-end position their fans wouldn't have thought possible a while ago. Seventh place is likely to be enough to get into the Europa League next season and Everton are currently seven points adrift. They will need to improve their form though as the Toffees have gone three league games without a win with just one goal in those matches. Wayne Rooney came on as sub for the second-half of the game at Bournemouth after missing the previous two matches due to illness. He'll be up for this game against his former side and it'll be interesting to see how the United fans treat him. Everton have won four of their last five home games, the other being a goalless draw with Chelsea. Manchester United slipped to third in the Premier League after being held to a goalless draw by Southampton. That's three league draws in a row for United who could be 17 points behind Manchester City by the time this game kicks off. They should have beaten Leicester in their last away game but let in a late equalizer, then again they were lucky to get a point after trailing Burnley 2-0. Whereas Rooney will most likely be playing against his former club, the same can't be said of Romelu Lukaku who was stretchered off against Southampton on Saturday, United will also be without Ibrahimovic and may well have to settle for a draw in this game.

Our Everton vs Manchester United Prediction
Both sides could do with starting the new year with a win. Everton are ninth but still only nine points above the bottom three. Manchester United's title bid is all but over and are without two top strikers for this game. A bet on a draw may well pay dividends in this match.
