Everton host Liverpool in the Premier League on Monday with the opportunity for a first win over their rivals in any competition since 2010 at the forefront of their minds. Despite having a 25-point lead at the top of the table, Liverpool seem strangely vulnerable right now after four of their last six matches ended in defeat. A lowly 12th in the table, Everton, ten points clear of relegation and eight away from a European place, are hardly coming into this in cracking form either. The Toffees have failed to win any of their last three games, the most recent of which was their worst display of the Ancelotti era, a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Chelsea. At home, Ancelotti remains unbeaten. Three of the five games he's managed at Goodison Park have been victories. Liverpool, however, are a different calibre of opponent, especially for Everton, who clearly have an inferiority complex that hinders their derby displays. 

To underline how strong the inferiority complex is, take a look at the last meeting between these teams. It was in the FA Cup in early January and Liverpool won 1-0 with a starting line-up that had an average age of 22. Things seemed different then. Liverpool could hardly put a foot wrong. They were a winning machine no matter who they put on the pitch. Now, luck isn't going their way. The Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid came despite Liverpool taking 34 shots in the second leg. Mind you, Jan Oblak is a bit of an anomaly himself in the sense that few goalkeepers could put in such a performance. We don't think Jordan Pickford could. For that reason alone, we could see Liverpool prevailing. Back a draw at half-time and Liverpool win at full-time.
