In a relegation six-pointer, Everton will host Leeds United at Goodison Park on Saturday in round 24 of the English Premier League. Going into the game, Everton are placed 18th with 18 points while Leeds are a point above them in 17th place. For the second successive season, both teams find themselves struggling to stay up. Everton were unable to build on their shock 1-0 win over then league leaders Arsenal two matchdays ago as they succumbed to their 12th loss of the season against rivals Liverpool last time out. The win over Arsenal ended a run of eight matches without a win and they will be keen not to fall back into that hole now that they are just one point away from safety.

Leeds too are in the same downward spiral as Everton and this has occasioned a managerial change, just like it was at Everton. They come into this game after a 2-0 loss to Manchester United in their last match. Everton and Leeds have won four matches each all season but Leeds are without a victory in the league this year. Leeds’ biggest area of concern has been their defence. The team has let in 38 goals – a tally only better than the two sides at the bottom of the league. Once this is sorted then they will start to climb up the table as they are at least worthy of a goal with 28 strikes so far. Leeds United haven't posted an away win in their last five league outings. They have just one clean sheet in their 11 away league matches this season.
