Everton face Burnley in the Premier League knowing that this is a game they dare not lose. The Toffees saw their 10-point deduction reduced to 6 on appeal, which means they now lie 16th in the table on 26 points, four clear of the drop zone and with a much better goal difference than Luton who occupy the final relegation spot. However, Sean Dyche's current team face his old having not won a game since their 2-0 win at Burnley back in December. That's 13 games in total and it means that the Toffees are still not safe, especially with the threat of another points deduction hanging over them at present. Their home form at Goodison is a worry, as they have won just three games at home this season. Defensively, the Toffees have conceded just 42 goals, the fewest of any team ranked lower than 6th in the EPL table, but they have found the net just 31 times, the second fewest goals in the division.

Having picked up six points from the last 12 available, Burnley have closed the gap on Luton Town to three points, but they still remain six points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th and they are going to have to continue this good form through to the end of the season if they are going to avoid the drop. Vincent Kompany will be delighted with the way his team has performed in their last few games, showing real grit to earn three draws and a win, two at home and two away from home. They did lose 3-0 to Everton in the League Cup at Goodison Park earlier in the season but it is fair to say that the Clarets are in much better form now than they were back then.
