Everton are ninth in the table, seven points off the Champions League spots and four adrift of a Europa League place. It hasn't been that easy a month for them with the sad death of Howard Kendall but their upcoming fixture list looks a promising one. After this game against Villa they take on Bournemouth, Palace, Norwich, Leicester, Newcastle and Stoke and there could be a fair few points from those games. Disappointing defeats against Man Utd and Arsenal ruined a good run but since then they've progressed in the Capital One Cup, beaten Sunderland 6-2 at home and drawn away at West Ham. Aston Villa are under new management but still bottom of the table and five points away from safety. They did get a 0-0 draw against Man City in their last league game and that should give them a bit of encouragement. Away from home though they have lost their last five league games and conceded at least two goals in each of those losses. Can Garde turn things around? He might but probably not this soon and I go for an Everton win.
