Everton moved up to fifth in the Premier League after winning at Leicester City on Wednesday. They bid to make it three straight league wins when hosting Arsenal who are down in 15th. Everton have had an up and down season but are in one of their up phases at present. The last week has seem them beat Chelsea 1-0 at home and then win 2-0 at Leicester. The clean sheets will please Carlo Ancelotti as their only other one before this week was in the opening 1-0 win at Tottenham. Everton had lost to both Manchester United and Leeds United, before beating Chelsea 1-0 last weekend, making it three home league wins for the season. Only two goals have been scored in the last two home league games at Goodison Park.

Arsenal came from behind to get a home point against Southampton on Wednesday evening. That ended a run of four straight home losses but they are still only five points above the bottom three at the time of writing this preview. The Gunners haven't won any of their last six league games with just one win in the last nine. Scoring is a major problem for them with just three scored in the last nine Premier League games and one of those was a penalty. Only one of their last five away league games has ended in victory, a 1-0 win at Old Trafford. Their only other away league victory this season has been at Fulham in September. Three of the last five on their travels have been lost and just two goals scored. It has been a tough fixture list though with games including Liverpool and Manchester City. Four of their last five away league fixtures have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. The last four have only seen one team get on the scoresheet. Everton have their confidence back and can get a home win in this game.
