Ethiopia vs DR Congo Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Ethiopia and DR Congo will lock horns in their second match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Monday night. The Walyas are in second place in Group H, while the Leopards lead the standing after matchday one. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Ethiopia commenced their AFCON qualification campaign with a fairly underwhelming performance, drawing goalless on the road to Tanzania in midweek. 

The Walyas had marginally more possession in the match (53%) but failed to manage a single shot on target across the 90 despite having eight attempts on goal. 

That result was Ethiopia’s third consecutive stalemate, following a 0-0 draw against Guinea-Bissau and a 1-1 draw to Djibouti during World Cup qualifying back in June this year. Over their last five home games, the hosts have a record of two wins, one draw and two defeats 

Meanwhile, just seven months ago, DR Congo put together a very impressive AFCON run, reaching the semi-final of the competition and finishing in fourth place after losing to South Africa in the third-place playoff. 

Since then, the Leopards have played two games, both World Cup qualifiers in June this year, and held Senegal to a 1-1 draw before beating Togo 1-0 just a few days later. 

The visitors have failed to win any of their last six away games, drawing four and losing two. In each of the last three matches between these sides, the home team has emerged victorious.
