Estoril host Benfica for the second time in three days, this time for the Taça de Portugal. It is difficult however to envision a scenario where the hosts come out on top even with the advantage of having played their opponent a few days in advance. Estoril were thrashed 5-1 in the weekend game, in what was their second defeat in three games. Overall however, they have not done that bad this season . They have only lost against Sporting, Braga and Benfica in their last eleven encounters, and are generally resolute and hard to beat. On the downside, they have a really poor recent record on home turf, managing to win just one of their last eight at the Antonio Coimbra da Mota.

They have also won each of their last six games, scoring at least four goals in their last four. As the numbers point out, Benfica are on fire right now, and anything other than an away win should be a grand surprise. Roger Schmidt’s side have also prevailed in fourteen of their last sixteen away games, keeping clean sheets in ten of those.
