Espanyol will play host to Real Valladolid in the Segunda Division on Saturday evening. The hosts are currently in second place after ten league games, while the visitors are sixth. After being relegated last term, Espanyol looks determined to return to the top flight. However, they suffered a minor setback last weekend when they were beaten 3-1 by Villareal II. That was just their second loss of the season, though it did see them drop out of first place in the league. The hosts are now on 20 points, with a record of six wins, two draws and two losses. Both those losses, though, were in away matches. At home, Parakeets are unbeaten in four games this season, including three wins. In addition, they have scored two or more goals in each of those matches. 

Meanwhile, Real Valladolid finished three points ahead of Espanyol last season, but it was not enough to avoid the drop. Their Segunda Division campaign began very poorly, as they managed only one win in their first five games. Since then, though, Pucelle seem to have found their stride. The visitors won their last match 3-2 against Mirandes last week, which took them to five wins in a row. During that time, they also kept four clean sheets while scoring nine themselves. Valladolid are now up to 19 points, and a win here could take them to the top of the table. The White and Violets have been the more dominant in this fixture in recent times. They have won three of the last four matches, but the one loss in that time came on their last visit to this venue.
