Hosts Espanyol, a point below safety have a tough outing here but can rise to 17th with a win. Espanyol’s run at home hasn’t been the best either, coming into this game with three losses in five.

Atletico took advantage of Real Madrid’s loss to leap above them to second and will hope to hold on. The win over Osasuna marked the fourth game in five that they scored three or more goals. In their last 12 matches, Atletico have 10 wins and two losses. They will be seeking a sixth straight unbeaten outing against Espanyol, who last beat them in 2019. The last time Atletico visited Catalunya, they lost 1-0 to Barcelona, but the last two visits to Espanyol ended without defeat.
