Etoile du Sahel will host Petro Luanda on Saturday in round two of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League. The two teams are competing in Group C where Petro are currently second and Etoile bottom. Etoile du Sahel lost 2-0 away to Tunisian rivals Esperance on matchday one. That loss ended an 11-match unbeaten run and they will be keen to get back to that form. Imed Ben Younes’ men had also won five games in this competition before the Esperance game. Etoile haven’t lost at home since last February and have won 12 of the 15 games in this period.

Petro Luanda had a positive start to the group which should give them extra motivation to seek a result here. The Angolan giants were 1-0 winners over Al Hilal at home. That result extended their current unbeaten run to six matches, a run that has seen them win four times. Os Tricolores haven’t had the best of times when playing away up North in this competition. They have failed to win any of their last 10 matches away to North African teams and have been defeated in half. Just like their soon-to-be hosts, Petro haven’t taken to the pitch since matchday one last weekend.
