Equatorial Guinea will welcome Togo to Malabo for the second round of matches in AFCON 2025 qualification. The two will be targeting first wins in Group E and here’s our prediction for the match.

A late collapse in the last match saw Equatorial Guinea lose 2-0 to Algeria in their opening group game. In three of four matches now, they've failed to score, as they endure a tough run. Switching to this home match, however, Equatorial Guinea will be favorites to beat Togo.

The last time they played at home, it ended in a 1-0 win against Malawi. They generally have a good run at home, losing just once in the last 17 matches there. The same form has been seen in their AFCON qualification matches, where they have five straight home wins.

Togo haven't lost this fixture in their last four meetings with Equatorial Guinea with the last two ending in draws. They will want to keep the good run going as they square off competitively for the first time since 2003.

Hadn’t they dropped their guard, Togo would have registered their first win in four matches when they hosted Liberia in Round 1. Ahoueke Denkey scored for Togo but they conceded a stoppage time goal courtesy of William Gibson.

The 1-1 draw was the third such result in Togo’s last four matches. From their last seven matches, they now have just a win. While they are unbeaten in four AFCON qualifying matches, Togo have just two wins in 15. They lost four times in seven away AFCON qualification matches.
