England Women vs Sweden Women Prediction & Betting Tips - Women's European Championship Qualifiers
by Ian John in Football Predictions
Current European Champions, England begin their qualifying campaign for Euro 2025 against Sweden on Friday night (8pm Kick Off). Sarina Wiegman's team have found form after a spell of losing three games in five, including the World Cup Final as well as two key Nations League games away to the Netherlands and Belgium. Since then, England have won the last four, scoring 21 goals in the process and conceding five. In February's friends they defeated Austria 7-2 and Italy 5-1 in the warm up to these qualifiers. However, England do not have a good record against Sweden, winning just four of the 27 games they have played against the Swedes, drawing eight and losing 15. However, they last played Sweden in the Euro 2022 Semi Finals, winning 4-0 at Wembley.
In February, Sweden secured a 10-0 aggregate victory over Bosnia & Herzegovina to retain their place in League A, with those two comfortable 5-0 wins home and away coming after two successive defeats in the Nations League including a 1-0 loss in Switzerland followed by a 5-3 loss in Spain. Drawn in a tough Euro 2025 Qualifying group with England, France and the Republic of Ireland, it may well be away performances that decide who earns the automatic qualification spots in this group. Peter Gerhardsson's team will know the size of the task they face against an England side who seem to have rediscovered the form that led them to win this competition last time out, especially when facing the Lionesses at Wembley.
