England vs Spain Prediction & Betting Tips - UEFA Nations League
by Steve Ashfield | in UEFA Nations League Predictions
The European Nations League begins and England host Spain in this League A group match. The other team in the group are Croatia who England will be familiar with after losing to them in the World Cup semi-final. Both teams will want to get off to a good start or the pressure will be on for the next game and a poor opening result will heighten the threat of relegation to League B. It’s an important game for England as they have to live up to the expectations that came from reaching the last four in Russia. Truth be told though, they go into this match with one win in their last five over 90 minutes. They may well have made the semi-finals in Russia but returned home having lost three matches. England haven’t made too many changes for this game but Raheem Sterling is out injured, not that this means England will score less goals considering his recent record and both Jamie Vardy and Gary Cahill have retired from international football. England haven’t lost a match at Wembley since March 2016 and their most recent home game against Spain ended in a 2-2 draw with two very late goals by the Spanish.
Spain have Luis Enrique in charge now, their third manager of 2018. Over 90 minutes they didn’t lose a game in Russia but bowed out in the last sixteen losing on penalties to the hosts. Lots of possession but a lack of attacking was their problem in Russia and they will be without David Silva who’s now retired from international football. Excluding penalty shoot—out defeats, Spain have gone 15 away games without defeat, last losing at Euro 2016. Three of the last four Spain internationals have ended in score draws. This is a tough match to predict but a double chance bet on Spain should get you a profit.

Our England vs Spain Prediction
England reached the last four in Russia but still managed to lose three games in the tournament. The pressure will be on them to do well in the European Nations League but face Spain and Croatia and could well be facing a relegation battle. Spain didn't lose over 90 minutes in Russia and haven't lost over 90 minutes since they were knocked out of the European Championships two years ago. Their last visit to Wembley ended in a 2-2 draw and the bet here is the double chance on them to either win or draw this match.
