England vs Scotland Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro
by Daniel Ngulu | in Euro Predictions
The England – Scotland rivalry is reportedly the oldest rivalry in the football world. That remains debatable, but in the second round in Group D the two face off in what will be a very tricky game for both. England have the advantage of having won their opening game and will hope to inflict a second loss on Scotland. The Three Lions saw off a tough Croatia challenge, walking away with a 1-0 win courtesy of Raheem Sterling’s second half strike. They have a few injury concerns ahead of this game; goalkeeper Dean Henderson has left camp with a hip injury and his replacement will be Aaron Ramsdale, as England takes advantage of the UEFA regulation allowing the replacement of a goalkeeper on medical grounds. Harry Kane collided with the post in the Croatia win and looks to have picked a rib injury while John Stones has an ankle problem. The injuries are however reported to be minor. Still, Gareth Southgate will be concerned, with Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson still recovering. The win over Croatia was the seventh straight for England and the score means they have six clean sheets in their last seven matches. Playing at Wembley will favor England as well; they have seven straight wins there, and only lost once in 17. They have won by one goal margins in each of their last four matches and with the rivalry between these two sides, we don’t expect a lot of goals, with the two expected to keep it tight at the back.
Scotland had good openings against Czech Republic, but fluffed their lines, though the Czech keeper was also alert to the threats posed. At 0-0 Scotland had good chances, but they were undone just before the break and right after resumption, by Patrik Schick, losing 2-0 in the end. It was some sort of reality check for Scotland, who have top players and were returning to the big stage for the first time in 23 years. They got a tough welcome and will be hoping to put their campaign back on track by beating England. Against Croatia in the final group game will be tough so they’ll try to get all they can from this as they look to advance from the group. In their last six matches, Scotland have only failed to score against Czech Republic and three times in those six matches, they’ve score two or more goals. They have quality forwards and are expected to solidify at the back with Kieran Tierney expected back from injury. Two clean sheets only in the last nine matches will however not be the best run to take to this game. In the last eight years these teams have met four times, and Scotland have no win, just a draw, and three losses.

Our England vs Scotland Prediction
Both teams have done well lately but here England have the advantage after their opening win. Scotland will be pressured to go forward as they can’t afford dropping more points, and this may leave them exposed at the back. England have a stronger side and after their opening win, will be a bit more relaxed compared to Croatia. Committing numbers upfront cost Scotland against Czech Republic and here they have no option but do the same, as they seek a win. England will be glad to take in the pressure, waiting for that moment, and with the sharp forwards they have, back them for another win.
