England vs North Macedonia Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro
by Joseph King | in Euro Predictions
Group C in the 2024 European Championship qualifiers sees leaders England hosting fourth-place North Macedonia. It’s been a perfect start to the qualifying campaign for England who have won three from their first three. They’ve now built up a six-point lead over second-place Ukraine, although have played one game more than the majority of the group. North Macedonia will be looking to bounce back after a hugely disappointing defeat to Ukraine on Friday. The defeat was the first of the campaign for the Lynxes who kicked things off on the right foot with a home win over Malta in the opener. North Macedonia are even on points with Ukraine in second but trail on head-to-head results.

England - North Macedonia: Form Analysis
England coasted to a 4-0 away win over Malta on Friday to preserve their perfect winning record in the 2024 Euro qualifiers. They’ve now netted eight goals and conceded only once in wins over Italy, Ukraine and Malta dating back to March of 2023. Despite a disappointing quarter-final exit to France in the World Cup, England have been in a good spell of form over the past eight months. Gareth Southgate’s men have now won six, drawn one and lost just once since their disastrous Nations League group stage performance. On their current eight game run, England are averaging nearly three goals per game with 21 scored and only five goals conceded.
North Macedonia looked to be cruising to a vital three points in their match against Ukraine on Friday. They led by two goals heading into the halftime break on home soil and had largely dominated the run of play. However, Ukraine looked to be a completely different team in the second 45 minutes and would go on to score three unanswered goals. The result was North Macedonia walking away empty handed in a 3-2 home defeat. The loss snapped a two match winning run for the Lynxes who had kicked off the qualifying campaign with a 2-1 home win over Malta. They’ll now face the toughest match on the Group C fixture list and are massive underdogs to upset the Three Lions.

England & North Macedonia Squad Analysis
England manager Gareth Southgate is expected to make a few changes for this match, three days following their win over Malta. Most likely to enter the fold are the Manchester City contingent, the majority who missed out on Friday. Only Phil Foden saw minutes against Malta, replacing the seemingly injured Bakayo Saka at halftime in what was called a ‘precautionary measure’ by Southgate. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Marcus Rashford handed the start in his club’s home stadium. It’s also likely we see treble-winning John Stones and possibly Kalvin Phillips make the starting 11 as well. Expect Harry Kane to continue up front, fresh after bagging another goal against Malta.
North Macedonia manager Igor Angelovski will have to make a change to his defense following the dismissal of defender Visar Musliu on Friday. Besides that, we aren’t likely to see too many changes to this North Macedonian starting 11 given there are no injury concerns. However, the manager may surely be considering some defensive changes given his team's abysmal second half showing which saw them concede three unanswered goals against Ukraine.

Our England vs North Macedonia Prediction
England are in a good flow at the moment having racked up three consecutive victories. It was the perfect response to the team’s first matches following the World Cup exit back in December of 2022. The hosts are clicking on the attacking side of the ball and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Harry Kane bag another goal for his country here. We’ve also been impressed with their defensive solidity as the team has kept five clean sheets in their previous eight games. We like them to continue with that defensive momentum, recording a straightforward win with a clean sheet here. Our England vs North Macedonia prediction is for England to win to nil.
England vs North Macedonia - Other Interesting Predictions
First half over 1.5 goals
There have been over 1.5 goals in the first half of England’s last three straight games. They’ve also seen this mark reached in five of their last eight overall. England have made a habit of scoring in the first half lately and there’s a decent shot that they are able to do it yet again here. While we aren’t expecting North Macedonia to find the net in this game, they are on a fairly decent scoring run. This bet also benefits should the visitors sneak a first half score.
England to be winning at half time and full time
England have made a habit of scoring in the first half of their recent games. They’ve scored a total of seven first half goals in their last three matches alone. England has been leading at half time and full time in five of their last eight matches. We should see Gareth Southgate’s team get off to another strong start in Manchester.
