England vs Iceland Prediction & Betting Tips - UEFA Nations League
by Steve Ashfield | in UEFA Nations League Predictions
After two straight losses in this group, England won’t be heading to the Nations League finals. This game at home to Iceland has little meaning now, especially with the visitors already relegated to League B. It was looking good for England after two wins and a draw in their first three group matches. That included a 2-1 home win over Belgium but then it all went wrong. They lost 1-0 at home to Denmark and then 2-0 away in Belgium. All of which has left them third in the group they once topped. A win over Iceland will take them into second but only if group winners Belgium beat Denmark. Look for Gareth Southgate to again experiment with his side just as he did in friendlies against Wales and Ireland.
Iceland have had a miserable group losing all five of their group games. They also lost to Hungary last week so won’t be in the next European Championship finals. They led that game 1-0 going into the 88th minute but lost 2-1. They do tend to concede late goals in matches. The Icelandic side have had some bad luck in this group. A last minute penalty miss cost them a draw at home to England, who had scored in the 91st minute. Then a 92nd minute goal in Denmark saw them lose 2-1. There have been some heavy defeats though, losing 5-1 in Belgium and 3-0 at home to Denmark. Iceland have lost five of their last six matches, all a bit disappointing considering a five game unbeaten run last year. Away form has seen Iceland with only wins in Andorra and Moldova since the last World Cup finals in 2018. A home win for England, leading at both half and full time is the bet to make.

Our England vs Iceland Prediction
It's a disappointing time for England having been eliminated from this competition at the weekend. Now we have a home game against Iceland that is not much more than a friendly game. England do have a good home record, even when playing weakened line-ups. Even if playing an experimental line-up, they will have too much for an Icelandic team that is not in good form at all. Go for England to win and be ahead at both half and full time.
