England vs Belgium Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Valeria Di Meglio | in World Cup Predictions
Both England and Belgium have done just what most of us expected they would and won their two games against lesser opposition. England top the group but only on fairplay so a draw and less bookings/sending-offs than Belgium will see them win the group and face either Senegal, Colombia or Japan. It is possible though that it could even go down to the drawing of lots over who wins the group if the game is drawn and the fairplay becomes level too with both sides having already scored eight and conceded twice. England have been looking good in their first two games but there are still a lot of questions over this young and inexperienced England side, particularly in defence. They come into this game unbeaten in their last 12 games and only lost one of their last 11 games against Belgium, though they have only met once this century. Gareth Southgate has indicated that he will make some changes for this match with perhaps Rashford and Rose getting games.
Belgium have also won their first two games in this group and already they have declared that a weaker side will be played in this match. They have a strong squad though and players such as Dembele, Fellaini and Januzaj are more than capable of making life difficult for any team. The Belgians are unbeaten in their last 21 games but still at times, just like their opponents, don't look that great at the back. This isn't easy to predict considering the possible changes that will be made to the line-ups but a bet on over 2.5 goals looks to be one that could well be a winner.

Our England vs Belgium Prediction
It's debatable over whether it's better to win this group or finish second with the most likely scenario being the difference between meeting Brazil or Germany in the quarter finals rather than the semi-finals but that could all change. It's unlikely teams will be playing a game that sees them get second rather than first but we do know both sides will make changes to those that have won their first two matches. That makes it a bit difficult to make a prediction and bets should perhaps be left late until the teams have been named. Both sides look full of goals at present and have question marks over their defence, so a bet on over 2.5 goals looks the one to be on.
