Empoli have an obligation to improve their fortunes as they entertain Lecce in Serie A this matchday. This will be the 15th match for the two teams to be played on Monday at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. Empoli are 18th with 11 points while Lecce are 13th with 16 points. The hosts are just outside safety zone on goal difference and should be looking to come out of it with improved performances. Lecce have lost four and drawn five matches in this run, since their last league win against Genoa in late September. The visitors also have an obligation to improve their away form as they are yet to win on the road this season. They have drawn four and lost two of their six away league matches, although they have scored in five of those and should continue that scoring form.
