Empoli bid to build on the 2-0 win they had at Fiorentina last week. They are 17th in Italy's Serie A (at 5pm on Saturday October 28) and host sixth placed Atalanta. The home side are only a point above the bottom three but were in the relegation zone before last weekend's win. That success at Fiorentina was only their second league win of the season, the other being a 1-0 home victory over Salernitana. The goal that got them that win is the only one they've scored at home this season in five league games but only four have been conceded. Their first three home league fixtures were all lost but the win over Salernitana was followed by a goalless draw with Udinese.

Atalanta have won five of their nine games in Serie A this season. Three have been lost though, the last being a 3-2 loss at Lazio in early October They bounced back well from that defeat though with a 2-0 home win over Genoa last weekend. They owe their high position in Serie A to their home form which has seen ten points earned. On the road, six points have come from their five league games with three losses. There have been wins at Sassuolo and Verona and will be hoping for a third away league win of the season at Empoli. They have won their last two away league trips to Empoli and we believe another win can be earned on Monday evening.
