Egypt vs Spain Prediction & Betting Tips - Men's Olympic Tournament
by Nella Wagah | in Men's Olympic Tournament Predictions
Egypt and Spain will be the first on the pitch in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, facing off in Group C of the competition, which also has Argentina and Australia. Egypt had requests to have Arsenal midfielder Mo Elneny and Liverpool’s Mo Salah included as the two overage players rejected. They will now have to make do without the two Premier League stars as they face a star-studded Spain but they have former West Bromwich Albion man Ahmed Hegazi in the team as one of the overage players. Whereas they go to this game as the weaker side on paper, Egypt have the better run and will have the advantage in players having been together for a while now. They are the Africa U23 Champions and will have what it takes to hold their own at this tournament. Ahead of this game, Egypt have no loss in their last eight matches and have failed to score in just one of the eight matches. They have won seven of those eight matches, and scored two or more goals in seven of their last nine matches. Defensively, they have work to do, having managed just four clean sheets in the last 10 matches.
Spain U23 haven’t played a lot of matches together and going to this tournament they will hope they can gel fast enough to be able to challenge. They are coming from a 1-1 draw with Japan in a friendly match, where Carlos Soler scored the equalizer with 12 minutes remaining. Spain were trailing courtesy of Ritsu Doan’s goal for Japan. That was Spain U23’s only game this calendar year. They missed the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio while they were really poor in the 2012 games, losing two and drawing one. Put together, Spain U23 have no win in their last five matches and should they fail to find a rhythm in this game, Egypt could have a field day. To make up for their lack of matches together as a team, Spain U23 have called up a number of top stars with senior caps, including Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio. Star midfielder Pedri, defender Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo, goalkeeper Unai Simon, Mikel Oyarzabal and Pau Torres are all in after featuring with Spain at Euro 2020.

Our Egypt vs Spain Prediction
Egypt have the advantage of having played together for a while now and they go into this competition as Africa U23 Champions. They take on a star-studded Spain side that hasn’t been together for long and this should present a good chance to the North Africans though they'll have to do better defensively. Egypt have a good scoring, and winning run; back them for a win here.
