Bahia had their opening game in the Brazilian Serie A against Botafogo postponed and as result they will have two straight home matches to start the season. They host Red Bull Bragantino in their second game of the season this Sunday. Going to the match, Bahia are seventh with three points and Bragantino have two points and are placed 10th. Bahia played in the Copa do Nordeste and Baiano 1 after lockdown and after their opening win, will be fit enough to take on Bragantino, who have played a game more in the league. While they have no loss in their last five home matches in Serie A, Bahia needs a lot of improvement from their recent home form, having managed just one win in the last nine league matches at home. Four of their last five home league matches ended in draws and it is only once in the last nine home league matches that they have scored more than a goal. The clean sheet in their 1-0 win over Coritiba in their last match was the first in seven home matches in the league but they also don’t concede a lot per game at home. In their 19 home league matches last season, they only conceded two or more in five matches. Generally, they haven’t had a great run in the league; in their last 17 league games, Bahia have managed only three wins, eight losses and three clean sheets.

On the other hand, Bragantino are just returning to the league they last played in in 1998. Having drawn with Botafogo and Santos in their opening matches is very positive for the team and they will be hoping to register a first win against another experienced side in the top flight. In their opening game against Santos, they showed their fighting spirit, coming from down to score a 90th minute goal through Claudinho but in their most recent game they dropped two points after taking a sixth minute lead through Alerrando. Bragantino had mixed results in the Paulista 1 post lockdown as they prepared for the league season and being unbeaten in three away matches, they will hope to do better in this clash. They have conceded in each of their last five away matches but they have scored in each of the last three.
