East Bengal and Hyderabad meet at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Goa for this Indian Super League match. Matches are all still being played in Goa due to Covid restrictions. East Bengal are in 10th position with 9 points while Hyderabad are in third place with 17 points. East Bengal had a much needed 2-1 win over Goa in their last match. It was amazingly their first win of the season and took them 12 matches to achieve it. They had a dismal record of six draws and five losses before this win. East Bengal’s biggest problems has been their defence as they have only managed to keep two clean sheets in 12 matches and both these clean sheets came in goalless draws. They have conceded 21 goals this season at an average of 1.75 goals per match. This is the third worst defensive record in the league.

Hyderabad are in the playoff positions and sit in third place but have a host of teams hot on their heels. The difference in points between them in third place and the 7th place team is just two points. They were in a much better position a few matches ago but have not had a win in their last three matches with two draws and a loss. This represents a loss of seven points in three games. Overall Hyderabad are still having a good season and much of this credit must be given to their sterling defence. They have only conceded 11 goals which is the second best defensive record in the league.
