Gameweek 19 in the Nigeria Professional Football League will see Doma United take on Rivers United on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently in fourth place in the league standings, while the visitors are 13th. Doma United have been much improved this season after failing to make the Championship round last term. They are currently on 31 points after the 18 games, just two shy of league leaders Lobi Stars and two clear of Enyimba in fifth place. The Savannah Tigers suffered a setback last week when they were beaten 3-0 away by Abia Warriors. With that, Doma have now split their last six matches with three wins and three losses, though that followed a run of eight unbeaten matches. The hosts' biggest strength has been their defence this season, as they have kept an incredible 13 clean sheets in 18 games and are yet to concede a single goal at home. 

In contrast, Rivers United have experienced a downturn in form this season and will need to get a move on in the second half of the campaign if they intend to challenge for the continental cup places. They are currently on 20 points, just three above the relegation zone. However, due to their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup, they do have three games in hand on most of the sides around them. The visitors managed a much-needed 2-1 win over Akwa United in their last league match, which brought an end to a three-match winless run that included two draws and a loss. Rivers’ biggest issue this term has been their away form. In six matches on the road this season, they are still winless and have taken only two points in that time. As such, they are the underdogs heading into this one.
