Ligue 1 leaders Lille travel to bottom-placed Dijon for a match at the Stade Gaston-Gérard on Tuesday night. Top of the table on goal difference, Lille's superior GD record has edged Lyon into second place. Champions PSG are a point behind in third while fourth-placed Marseille, who have two games in hand, are only two points back. Anchored to the foot of the table in 20th, Dijon only have nine points from 11 games, leaving them 20 points behind their upcoming opponents. Although it's not a spot any club wants to be in, Dijon could climb as high as 16th with a win in midweek, so their situation is far from terminal. A draw at Nantes over the weekend means that Dijon have only lost one of their last six matches. They are yet to win a game at home this season; however, four draws in their previous five home games makes them a tough team to visit. Six of Dijon's seven home games this season featured fewer than three goals. 

Lille bounce back from a disappointing midweek defeat at Celtic in the UEFA Europa League by beating Bordeaux 2-1 at home on Sunday. While they were already sure of qualification from their UEL group, Lille boss Christophe Galtier would have been upset to see his side lose for only the second time this season. Unbeaten in their last four league matches, three of which were wins, Lille are thriving at the moment. An underwhelming start to the season by PSG suggests the possibility of a new champion in the French top flight this season, and Lille looks as good a challenger as any. One blot on their copybook is their patchy away record in the league, where they have failed to win four of their last five matches on the road. Defeats in two of their previous three visits to Dijon hint that this could be tougher than the table reads. The previous three encounters between these sides ended 1-0. We predict under 2.5 goals.
