Derby County vs Ipswich Town Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
The management career of Frank Lampard began well with a last-gasp 2-1 win at Reading on the opening day of the season. Since then though life has become more difficult with a 4-1 home loss to impressive Leeds United and a 2-1 defeat at Millwall. Neither of those sides have lost a league game this season and this home game against Ipswich Town looks a much easier task. Derby had won four out of five home league games before the defeat by Leeds United and it looks as if they are capable of making the play-offs again but up against the very best in the division they are going to struggle. They are down in 14th and four points behind the play-off positions already. Their next two games are at home to Ipswich Town and Preston and they need to get some points from these games if they don't want that gap to widen even further.
Ipswich Town have also made a disappointing start to the season with two points from three games leaving them in 16th place in the table. Their season began with a 2-2 home draw against Blackburn Rovers needing a 91st minute equaliser to get a point. That was followed by a 1-0 defeat at Rotherham United, who have lost their other two league games this season and then coming from behind to get a 1-1 home draw with Aston Villa. Even worse they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Exeter City and have now gone five games without a win and have lost five of their last six away league games. This looks a good opportunity for Derby to get back on track with a home win.

Our Derby County vs Ipswich Town Prediction
Derby County got their season off to a good start but have struggled since. They have played two strong teams in Leeds United and Millwall so their current league position is perhaps false. Two home games against Ipswich and Preston gives them a good chance to move up the table. Ipswich are going through a bad patch at present and struggle on the road, go for Derby to get the home win.
