Paul Warne's Derby County have struggled on the road in the Championship this season, losing both away matches so far; 4-2 at Blackburn Rovers and then last weekend 2-1 at Watford. At home, they picked up their sole win of the campaign, a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough sandwiched between the two defeats. 

After losing out to Barrow on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek, the home side will be desperate to put on a better performance here. Especially against a team against whom they do not enjoy a good recent record against.

Bristol City lie seventh in the table after three games, eight places higher than Derby. Liam Manning will be delighted with the positive start made by his team and he will hope to continue that here against a team the Robins enjoy a very good recent record against.

City have beaten Derby on five of the last six occasions that they have met, including two of the last three fixtures played at Pride Park. They have drawn twice in the league this season, including their last game at home to Coventry and their season opener at Hull, both 1-1. Their sole win coming in a dramatic 4-3 victory over Millwall, where they led 2-0, then trailed 3-2 before landing a nailbiting 4-3 victory with an 88th-minute winner from Scott Twine.
