Denmark vs England Prediction & Betting Tips - UEFA Nations League
by Steve Ashfield | in UEFA Nations League Predictions
Denmark are already fighting a relegation battle after losing their first Nations League game against Belgium. Now they host England, who had luck on their side as they won 1-0 away at Iceland. The Danes went behind after just nine minutes on Saturday and another goal in the second half saw them lose the game 2-0. Unless UEFA revamp the structure of this competition again, the side finishing bottom of this group will be in League B next season. Denmark had been unbeaten in 15 internationals before losing at the weekend. They won promotion from League B in the first Nations League, finishing ahead of Wales and Ireland. That was followed by finishing second in their European Championship and qualifying for next year's finals. Their home record is strong with that loss on Saturday being the first in a FIFA recognised match since 2016. They certainly can't afford to lose a second home game in this group or it will be a case of getting points against Iceland to avoid an immediate return to League B.
England looked to be heading for a draw in their first game in Iceland. A late Raheem Sterling penalty gave them the lead but then they had to rely on Iceland missing from the penalty spot to get the three points. England played a young team in that match and will be without Kyle Walker for this game after he was sent off on Saturday. Gareth Southgate's team has a lot of promise but also plenty of inexperience. They can't just always have a 'promising' team, they need to finally win a tournament. England have won their last four games but they always look slightly vulnerable on their travels with a loss in the Czech Republic last year and struggling to beat Iceland at the weekend. A bet on under 2.5 goals in this game looks the best to make.

Our Denmark vs England Prediction
Two away wins for England would be a great start to their Nations League campaign. Harder battles against Belgium lie ahead though. This won't be the easiest of games for England against a Denmark side that aren't that easy to beat on home soil. They will want to get off the mark in this group after losing to the Belgians on Saturday. England didn't impress in Iceland and were lucky to get the three points. A bet on under 2.5 goals in the game looks likely to be a winner, especially if England again struggle to put their chances away.
