Denmark vs England Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro
by Ian John in Euro Predictions
The Three Lions are back in action Thursday evening, with England fans hoping their team will finally roar into action against Denmark.
Following on from an insipid 1-0 victory over Serbia in their opening match, England will be hoping for a better display but a similarly positive result against the Danes. A win would certainly qualify them for the knockout phase.
Jude Bellingham's masterful midfield display and game-winning header was the bright point for England in an otherwise unimaginative performance against the Serbs.
Denmark were held 1-1 by Slovenia in their opening match. Head coach Kasper Hjulmand will know that one win from their remaining two games should be enough to qualify for the knockout phase. Even if it's as one of the best third-placed teams in the group stages.
Kickoff is at 5 pm, so tune in to find out whether the Three Lions will roar for the first time at Euro 2024!

Denmark - England: Form Analysis
While England drew plaudits for their defensive work in the 1-0 win over Serbia, their attacking tactics and shape were criticized. So too their ability to break up the Serbian possession in the second half. Could that tempt Gareth Southgate into making a change or two?
That's doubtful. The win over Serbia was just England's second win in their last six games (2 draws, 2 defeats). The victory should have given the players a boost in confidence, despite the fact that the team faded after a solid first-half display.
Manager Southgate has shown he tends not to change winning teams too often in major tournaments.
Even with a fully fit and booking-free squad to pick from. He'll need to see much more from his attacking players though against tricky opponents in the shape of Denmark.
While England may not be ready to change things of yet, Danish boss Kasper Hjulmand may decide to.
A 1-1 draw against Slovenia, perceived to be the weakest team in the group, was not the start the Danes wanted to their Euro 2024 campaign.
Despite the draw with Slovenia, the Danes come into this game unbeaten in their last five, having won three and drawn two. In fact, they have lost just once in the past two years, a 2-0 defeat last November away to Northern Ireland.
Denmark also has a good recent record against England. In the last seven matches between the two teams, the Danes have won three, England three, and one game has been drawn. They also pushed England very hard in the semi-finals in Euro 2020, forcing extra-time before losing to a penalty from Harry Kane that Kasper Schmeichel saved, only for Kane to score the rebound.
You can be assured the Danes will want to avenge that loss here!

Denmark & England Squad Analysis
England full-back Kieran Trippier picked up a slight knock in the game with Serbia but appeared to recover during the game. However, Luke Shaw is back in full training and could be considered for that role.
It also remains to be seen whether Trent Alexander-Arnold will remain in central midfield or if Conor Gallagher will get the nod. Southgate has proven to be loyal to his first-choice players in past tournaments, so any changes to the team will likely be minimal.
That means the growing clamour for the exciting Cole Palmer to start will likely fall on deaf ears.
Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and the outstanding Jude Bellingham are likely to keep their places as the attacking quartet.
Denmark has the option to make several changes for this game.
Experienced defender and captain Simon Kjaer, who sat out the opening 1-1 draw with Slovakia, is likely to return in the heart of defense.
Coach Hjulmand could also call upon Brentford duo Mikkel Damsgaard and Christian Norgaard for the game against the nation where they play their club football. At the same time, talented left-sided wingback Joakim Maehle could also earn a spot in the first XI.
Another potential change could see Kasper Dollberg handed the start in place of Jonas Wind, with Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund likely to keep his place in the team.

Our Denmark vs England Prediction
After a slow start against Serbia, Gareth Southgate's team should have gained confidence from that win over what is likely to be their most difficult opponents in this group.
Denmark, while solid defensively like Serbia, don't offer anywhere near as much attacking threat as the Serbs and England's back line coped well with what Serbia conjured up in that game. Similarly, if the Danes struggled to keep Slovenia out in their opener, they should find it much tougher against Harry Kane, Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham.
A win for England would qualify them and allow Southgate to remain players for the final group game with Slovenia. That's an enticing prospect and added incentive for England to get the job done here. Our prediction for England v Denmark Euro 2024 Group C: England win.
Denmark vs England - Other Interesting Predictions
Under 2.5 Goals
Only one of the last four games between England and Denmark has seen over 2.5 goals scored, and it required extra time for that to be the case when the teams put last in the semi-finals of Euro 2020.
Both team's opening fixtures were tight affairs, and this game doesn't look likely to be any different. Especially with both managers knowing that the really decisive action in this group will come in the final group games.
While data suggests England will win the game, it also suggests it will be another narrow victory, so our first secondary prediction is for under 2.5 goals to be scored.
Harry Kane (England) to score at any time.
Having seen his header brilliantly saved by the Serbian goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic in England's opening win over Serbia, striker Harry Kane will hope to break his goalscoring duck in the tournament against the Danes on Thursday night.
The England skipper was shepherded very well by the Serbian centre-backs, minimizing his influence in the game, but he will expect to play a bigger part against the Danes.
If England are to go deep in this tournament, they will need their captain to start scoring goals and he is a good bet to do so against Denmark, the team he scored the winner against in the 2020 Euro Semi-Finals.
So our other secondary prediction is for Harry Kane to score at any time.
