Daegu FC vs Gimcheon Sangmu FC Prediction & Betting Tips - K-League

The early K-League kick-off of the weekend sees Daegu playing host to Sangju Sangmu on Friday. Daegu, ninth, are still without a win after three games while Sangju are fourth after back-to-back victories. Daegu finished stronger than Sangju last season - playing out the season in Final A while their counterparts played Final B - but things haven't clicked for them in 2020. The reason for this poor start to the season appears to be the departure of Brazilian coach Andre. He resigned a few short weeks before the first game of this campaign with reports indicating that a disagreement with the board left his situation untenable. Under Andre, the strike duo of Edgar and Cesinha combined tremendously, scoring goals for fun. However, things haven't clicked for the pair this season with only one goal between them thus far. Edgar, the scorer of the aforementioned goal, will hope to continue a fine record against Sangju.

Relegated before the season began due to its franchise switching cities, Sangju are the K-League's military team and thus ineligible for the Asian Champions League. It's a shame because they could be on course for their best season in the top flight with their current best finish being sixth in 2016. It didn't look that way after a disastrous defeat on the opening day, going down 4-0 to Ulsan. But Sangju have bounced back well with midfielder Kang Sang-woo scoring in each of the victories that followed. Their record in this fixture isn't spectacular - only winning one of the last six meetings - but Sangju are good value for a draw.
