Czech Republic will be back at home on Sunday to take on Faroe Islands in a Group E Euro 2024 qualifier. Going into this game, Czech Republic are third in the group while Faroe Islands are bottom of it. In a poor showing in their last game, Czech Republic suffered a 3-0 defeat away to Albania. That was their first loss in this group but there were all the signs it was coming. Two earlier draws with Hungary and Albania mean the hosts come into this game without a win in three matches. A first half red card to Mojmil Chytil compounded Czech Republic’s misery in that game. they will hope to bounce back without him. With a game in hand though, Czech Republic have their fate in their hands. A win here takes them back to second in the standings ahead of Poland. They have no chance through the playoffs so Czech Republic have to qualify by finishing in the top two. Playing at home, they are unbeaten in three matches, with two wins. In 11 home matches, they’ve lost just once, and won six times.

Faroe Islands are the whipping boys of Group E. They come into this game without a win in their six matches in the group. The visitors have scored just twice in that run and conceded 12 times. Faroe Islands’ only point in this group was gained from their Match Day 1 draw with Moldova. It ended 1-1 and they haven't been able to match or better that in the five games that followed. Faroe Islands have not tasted victory in their last nine matches, suffering seven losses in the process. They had a shock win over Turkey in September last year and haven't managed a win again. In Euro qualification, Faroe Islands have one win in their last 20 matches. That came in a 1-0 win over Malta in 2019 and happens to be their only clean sheet in 17 Euro qualification matches. Faroe Islands have this tendency of pulling a shocker once in a while. Their last away win in Euro qualification was against Greece in 2014. They aren’t in that form anymore and here they have failed to score in four of five away euro qualification matches.
