Crystal Palace had gone four games without a win before heading to Anfield a fortnight ago. They had slipped down to 10th in the table but caused a major shock by handing Liverpool a 2-1 defeat. That moved them back up to 8th in the table and they have a great chance here of getting another win and starting to build some momentum again. Selhurst Park certainly hasn't been a fortress this season but the teams that have beaten Palace have all been teams at the top of the table with Arsenal, Manchester City and West Ham all winning there. Games against sides in the bottom half of the table have had much better results and that should be the case here.  Sunderland are still struggling even after the arrival of Sam Allardyce as their new manager. They start the weekend one place off the bottom and are four points from safety, a gap they can't really allow to get much wider. Their only league win was in that Derby match at home to Newcastle and their away form is woeful.  Just one point from six games and 18 goals conceded including six at Everton recently. Palace should be able to inflict even more misery on Sam Allardyce who face it, never looks that cheerful at the best of times.
