Even 10th placed Bournemouth are only five points above the relegation zone so the battle to avoid the drop in the Premier League has more candidates than ever before. Two of them are on show here as 13th placed Crystal Palace host Newcastle who are a place and two points below them. A win for Palace would put five points between them and Newcastle but failure to win would put them right back in trouble as they are only three points above the bottom three. Palace got off to a disastrous start this season but a league table for the past 15 league games has them in 9th place and that same form table has Newcastle bottom over the past 15 matches. Their last nine home league games have seen just one defeat by Arsenal and with Cristian Benteke showing signs of coming back to form, they have a good chance of winning this as long as he doesn't take any penalties. Newcastle struggled for investment in their team during the transfer window, but that's nothing new for them. They are 14th in the table and just two points off the bottom three and that could be less by the time this game begins. Newcastle have gone four league and cup games without a win and have poor away form with just three wins and seven defeats this season. Palace have home advantage and that should be the key in this game, so go for a Palace win.
