It took Crystal Palace untl October last season to reach three points. This time around they won on the opening day of the season beating newly promoted Fulham 2-0. Now they play their first home game at Selhurst Park and have to take on high-scoring Liverpool who beat them on home territory last season. Palace won seven home league games last season and lost the same number. Three of those wins came in the last trio of games of the season scoring ten goals but before that they had lost to both Liverpool and Manchester United and often struggle against the very best in the league.

Liverpool fit into that category and began their season with a comprehensive 4-0 win over West Ham United. Their new players are already fitting in well and having a fit-again Sturridge on the bench makes them even more fearsome up front. They have 16 goals in their last four matches. Away form was sometimes patchy last season with nine wins but five defeats and they only won one of their last five but their Champions League campaign had a lot to do with that. Liverpool look like scoring every time they go forward and the strength of their bench has improved greatly, go for them to win this match.
