Crystal Palace’s barren draw with Cardiff City brought to an end a two game winning run for the London side but presented the second game in three that they have kept a clean sheet, and playing at home against Chelsea in a London Derby, Palace will fancy their chances against a side that has not been as ruthless as it was in the initial stages of the season. Chelsea have been winning by close margins in their recent outings, a suggestion of diminishing confidence in the side, and they have kept just one clean sheet in the last five matches. Chelsea beat Palace 3 – 1 in the first leg meeting and having dropped to 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool, they will be keen on winning this game to keep up the pace as well as holding on their top four place.
