A 3 – 2 win at Etihad Stadium should be enough to push Crystal Palace for a couple of matches and going by just that result, they may be able to turn around their season, or at least end the year on a high. They have not had the best of seasons and coming from that clash straight to one against a struggling team should be an easy outing for Palace. Cardiff are only two points above the relegation zone and a run of three losses in their last four matches leaves them a bit short compared to Palace who are on two straight wins and six points off the drop zone. Before beating City away from home, Palace were not expected to see off Leicester in the earlier game but they pulled a good result and they should be able to look at this Cardiff game as winnable. While Cardiff have a win in the four matches they have played in December, Palace have won three of the five played in the month and they will want to pick the points to cushion themselves ahead of the tricky tie against Leicester. Cardiff are winless away from home this season and in the eight away matches they have played, they have managed just one clean sheet, and one point. On the other hand, Palace, who started the season on a low, especially at home, have managed two straight home wins in the league coming to this clash and both matches have produced clean sheets. With just one point from a possible 24 in their away matches, we don’t see Cardiff getting off this game with much to show, though they may look at the fact that Palace have not done so well at home as motivation to go for a rare three away points. Head to head, the two sides have faced off 22 times and Palace have eight wins while Cardiff have nine.
