Crotone face a tough battle to stay in Serie A after winning promotion last season. They start this game bottom of the table and host AS Roma who only have the two Milan sides above them in the table.  The home side made a terrible start to the season with just two draws from their first ten league games. Their form has improved though with seven points from four games vastly improving their hopes of avoiding an immediate return to Serie B. The new year didn't get off to a good start though with a 6-2 defeat at Inter. That left them still bottom but just two points from safety. Crotone have won their last two home league games but both opponents are in the bottom four. This is a lot tougher for them.

Roma are third in the table and began 2021 with a 1-0 home win over Sampdoria to keep them in third place. They trail Inter who are second by six points with leaders Milan a further point ahead of them. Roma have won four of their last five league games, scoring 13 goals. Their only recent loss was at Atalanta, where they were beaten 4-1. Away form isn't as good as that on home soil. Home games have produced 17 points and no losses, on their travels though, three have been won, one drawn and three defeats. All their away losses have been to sides in the top eight, with wins against Udinese, Genoa and Bologna, all in the bottom nine. Up against a similar level of opposition, Roma can get the away win here.
