Crawley Town continue their bid to avoid relegation to the National League. They are one place above the bottom two and host Grimsby Town who are 15th in the League Two table. It was looking rather bleak for Crawley a few weeks ago. They were in the bottom two at that time but come into this game having won three of their last four league fixtures. That's taken them out of the drop zone and four points clear of Hartlepool United. This is their game in hand and a win will take them to 20th in League One and seven points above the bottom two. Their most recent game saw Crawley beat Rochdale 2-0 at home. Their opponents are bottom of League Two and ten points from safety, so looking doomed to relegation. Crawley have only lost one of their last six home league fixtures, that was to promotion chasing Carlisle United. Overall this season, they have won won eight of their 18 league matches.
The FA Cup run is over for Grimsby and they look destined to remain in League Two. They are 14 points adrift of the promotion play-offs but a comfortable 15 above the bottom two. Grimsby have played two league games since losing 5-0 at Brighon in the FA Cup. Both games have been drawn with the most recent being a 1-1 home draw with Walsall after taking an early lead. They are unbeaten in their last five games and lost just one of the last nine. However, five of those games have been drawn and that's greatly hindered any hopes of a promotion challenge.
