Coventry City vs Wrexham Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in FA Cup Predictions
Coventry City aim to avoid an upset when hosting Wrexham in the FA Cup third round. The home side are 14th in the Championship, while their opponents are second in the National League. Coventry may be in the bottom half of the Championship but are only four points behind the final promotion play-off position. They aren't in the best of form with only one win in their last six league games. Three of those games have ended in a draw and City are unbeaten in their last seven home games in the Championship with one loss in the last 10. Not since 2015 have they lost a home FA Cup tie with a run of eight games without defeat and three clean sheets in the last three.
Wrexham are making headlines with their Hollywood owners and battling hard to get back into the English Football League. They were relegated into non-league football in 2008 after being in the English Football League since 1921 and reaching the FA Cup quarter finals on three occasions. They are currently only two points behind National League leaders Notts County and have a game in hand. Wrexham are unbeaten in their last 17 league and cup games. Their last loss was at Notts County back in October. Their last four games have all ended in victory. Away form has seen them unbeaten in seven games but only with one three wins in the last eight. They have had to win four games to get to the third round of the FA Cup. A replay was needed against Blyth Spartans (a league below them) in the fourth qualifying round. They have since had wins over non-league Oldham and Farnborough. Not since 2018 have they won an away FA Cup tie, a run of seven games.
